ePortfolios of Excellence 2024-2025

Each year, the top three ePortfolios from the School of Arts and Sciences capstone courses are selected to represent the amazing academic talents of our students. Thaila Dao, 1st place, Daniel Rawlinson, 2nd place, and Tera Waddell, 3rd place.

Thaila Dao: See Right Through Me

Looking back on my academic journey, from late-night study sessions to pouring my heart into creative assignments, I’m so proud to share this collection. This ePortfolio is a special capstone that reflects both my cultural experiences and everything I’ve learned along the way. As you click through the pages, you will notice the theme of X-rays and the shades of the color blue! Over the course of my time as a South Piedmont Community College student, I discovered the passion of radiography. With elements of bones, radiation, and physics, I was eager to learn more. Along with features of radiography, you will also notice bits of leadership components sprinkled throughout my ePortfolio--another beloved interest of mine.

As you click through the website, be on the lookout for X-ray inspired buttons that take you through specific pages! With each page, light images in the background reflect bones that contribute to the theme, as well as pictures of my leadership journey. Above and below, you will be navigated to each page and subpage regarding sections of my ePortfolio. Discover my short and long-term goals, my core skills (especially communication), what I hope to gain when I graduate, and even more content that has shaped me as an individual.

Daniel Rawlinson: Curiosity Fuels Growth

The theme for this ePortfolio is encompassed in the phrase "Curiosity Fuels Growth." As a dual-enrolled student, my learning journey at SPCC began with curiosity; that is, curiosity about the world, my interests, and the many opportunities which lie ahead. This curiosity has fueled my continued pursuit of learning during my time at SPCC, both inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, this theme encompasses my belief that authentic development, whether personal or academic, is driven by a positive learning attitude. You will see this ePortfolio's theme evidenced in several different ways, including relevant quotes, scenic images depicting nature, and an earthy color palette, which reflects the idea of organic growth.

Tera Waddell: From Seed to Summit

The theme for my ePortfolio is "Life is a Journey." On each page, you will see quotes and scenes that relate to a journey through nature. The reason I chose this theme is because nature is a place where I feel at home. I have learned many lessons from being outdoors in my garden, on a hike, or on just a simple nature walk. In life, there are many mountains to climb, but there are also breathtaking views along the way. Please take a look around my ePortfolio, and you will see what it is like to travel through the Associate of Arts in a Year program at South Piedmont Community College. I am excited to share my travels with you.
